Educational Institutes
A WordPress portal
for educational institutes.
Student + parent + teacher portal, course delivery, alumni network, donor community. The unified platform that does not need a separate intranet.
Why community for educational institutes
Three reasons educational institutes build a community.
01
Engagement predicts graduation
Students who participate in at least one community group within the first semester graduate 18 percent more often. Community = retention.
02
Parents want a window
A parent dashboard with attendance, grades, upcoming events, and one-click contact with teachers cuts parent-teacher friction massively.
03
Alumni are admissions + donations
A polished alumni network drives admissions referrals + annual giving. One portal handles both.
What BuddyX gives educational institutes
Four building blocks.
Role-tier home pages
Student, parent, teacher, alumni, donor each see different home pages with their relevant content + actions.
Course + classroom groups
Each class is a group with announcements, assignments, discussion. Replaces email + Google Classroom for many use cases.
Alumni directory + events
Alumni opt in; searchable by graduation year, location, profession. Annual reunions, class meetups hosted in the portal.
Donor community
Donors see impact stories, named programs, giving history. Recurring gift management built in.

FAQ
Common questions
How does this fit with our SIS (PowerSchool, Skyward)?
BuddyX is the engagement + community layer; the SIS stays the system of record for grades, attendance, transcripts. Sync the parent + student dashboards via REST or Zapier so each sees the latest from the SIS without duplicate data entry.
What about compliance (FERPA, COPPA)?
BuddyX is a theme - compliance lives in your hosting + plugins + processes. The portal can be made FERPA-friendly with role-based access, audit logs, and minimum-necessary data display. Discuss specifics during scoping.
Can we run online courses for paid programmes?
Yes. LearnDash + BuddyX delivers paid continuing education, summer programs, or full online degree programmes. Payments via WooCommerce or LearnDash Stripe.
