Restaurants
A WordPress community
for restaurants.
Guest community, loyalty programme, chef supper club, staff intranet. Turn the website from a menu PDF into the place regulars meet between visits.
Why community for restaurants
Three reasons restaurants build a community.
01
Regulars buy more, talk more
Restaurants with a private "first-tribe" community see check averages climb 18 percent for members and word-of-mouth bookings increase. Membership creates ownership.
02
Chef and team need a stage
The kitchen team is talented and the front-of-house is loyal. A staff intranet with weekly menu briefs, allergen updates, and a recipe library shows the team they matter.
03
Events sell out faster
A wine dinner with 24 hours notice fills when 800 known regulars get the email. The same dinner posted to "the public" gets 3 reservations and a lot of wishful thinking.
What BuddyX gives restaurants
Four building blocks.
Member tiers + loyalty layer
Free tier for newsletter readers, paid tier for the "chef tribe", VIP tier for the omakase regulars. Each tier sees different content, different events, different perks.
Event calendar + ticketing
Pair BuddyX with Events Calendar Pro and Event Tickets. Members reserve seats; the system holds the count; staff sees the reservation board.
Recipe + technique library
Behind the paywall: chef recipes, plating videos, vendor sources, technique tutorials. Members get to cook the things they ate at the restaurant.
Staff intranet (separate site)
Same BuddyX install, separate access tier. Staff sees daily prep, menu changes, allergen alerts, training videos.

FAQ
Common questions
Do I need a separate POS integration?
For loyalty + revenue tracking yes - integrate Toast, Square, or your POS via Zapier or a custom webhook. BuddyX handles the community side; the POS handles the transaction side. We wire them together during setup.
Can members make reservations through the site?
Yes, via Event Tickets Plus for events (chef nights, classes) or by embedding your existing OpenTable / Resy widget for regular reservations. Members see their upcoming bookings inside their dashboard.
How does this compete with mailing lists like Mailchimp?
Mailchimp is one-to-many. A community is many-to-many - members talk to each other, post pictures from their visits, recommend wines. The mailing list is a tactic; the community is the asset.
